A contract has been registered to appoint a company for the Shincheonji Church in San Francisco, USA.
The company explained that the purpose is to inform the U.S. officials of the persecution and excessive measures taking place in Korea and the United States.
They also wrote that they would encourage the U.S. government to deal with the issue properly.
The lobby, founded by a former U.S. House of Representatives tycoon, is located near the U.S. Congress building in Washington, D.C.
It specializes in lobbying for foreign governments and organizations against the Congress and the federal government.
The appointment fee will be $8,500 per month, about 10 million won per month, and the 6 months contract was signed on the 17th of last month allowing the two sides to extend the period by six months.
The chairman of Shincheonji, Lee Man-hee, who is currently in custody, apologized again to the nation in a closed-court session on the 3rd, just as in a press conference in March.
Lee Man-hee/Shincheonji Chairman (March 2): "I don't know how to apologize. I Express my gratitude and at the same time I ask the government for forgiveness."
Shincheonji said the church in the United States hired its own company without consulting the Korean headquarters, and that what the company explained about the Korean government's oppression is not true.
