The camouflage churches - SBS

Even if they are Shincheonji they are recognized pastors of the “camouflage churches”... It is

important to understand if they are on the list

SBS News 2020.02.27

Shincheonji operates the so-called camouflage churches. They are disguised as traditional

churches and are responsible for the missionary work. Some says there are as many as 100

pastors working in this way, and there are concerns that many people may have been in contact

with SCJ without even knowing. Reporter Kim Young-ah will tell us the details. A newspaper

well informed about Shincheonji reported the content of SCJ general meeting last month. It says

that the number of pastors of traditional churches that learn and teach SCJ doctrine, is sharply

increasing and that there are around 100 of these pastor, this number to be increased to 1000

during this year. An ex SCJ member testifies about these so called camouflage churches.

“These churches are completely different from SCJ. They look like regular presbyterian

churches. However, they preach the doctrine of SCJ. They have different strategies to infiltrate

the traditional churches. They sometimes enter the theology school and study to get the

certificate so they can take charge of a church but often times they just borrow the license from

someone.” This ex-member says that if the truth is exposed they just move into another area. “It

is not easy to have these churches to close for good. They keep changing the name. This way

they hide these camouflage churches. When I left, it was in XX.” The members of these

camouflage churches may not even know that the pastor is affiliated with SCJ and that they are

exposed to danger. It will be necessary to verify if these pastors are included in the SCJ

members list.
