name ex- members as an example of betrayers and insult them.

I can think of a couple more that can be picked up in the early stages -
- "Love bombing": not unique to SCJ, it's actually used by many abusive cults. From day one, maintainers and teachers will start trying to build a close relationship with you, they'll talk about your interests, your hobbies, your uni/work situation, your church situation, and just try to present themselves as trustworthy friends that you can come to if you're having problems. All the while, they're trying to find out and exploit your weaknesses, the things that make you tick, the things that might prevent you from participating in the group. Maintainers especially may ask to meet up often, and when you can't, they'll maintain constant contact via text message.
- Policing of attendance: self-explanatory. Attendance at centre classes isn't just "encouraged", it's unofficially mandatory, and you're told to let the teachers know if you'll be late by even a few minutes. You're discouraged from missing class even if you're sick, and especially if it's for university or work commitments.

Feelings of shame: why you didn’t evangelize anyone this week? Why aren’t you donating more money? Don’t you know about the blood of the martyrs? Isolation and information control: don’t trust other people, don’t look at the internet Sleep deprivation Control over private life and relationships: if you want to date someone you must get married within six months, you must not date the gentiles, if your job or school or friends keep you from doing SCJ’s work they are satanic I’ve also heard this threat: if you leave SCJ not only you, but your whole family will be condemned to hell. But if you stay you can save them with your prayers...
